1C server rental in Riga

An office PC was never meant to serve a whole accounting team. It shares its CPU and disk with everyday desktop work, has no server-grade storage, and stops whenever the office loses power or internet, usually right before a reporting deadline. A rented server in our own data centre in Riga runs around the clock on a high-GHz CPU with NVMe disks, and the infrastructure stays under 24/7 monitoring. Your accountants connect securely over VPN or RDP from the office, from home or from a client site, so daily work no longer depends on one physical machine under a desk.

As a rule of thumb, the plan depends on how many people work in 1C at the same time and whether the base runs in file or SQL mode. Small suits a small team with a file base, Business fits growing companies with more concurrent users, and Ultra is meant for heavier loads such as large SQL bases or several bases on one server. If you are between two sizes, start smaller: you can always contact us about a bigger configuration later. Windows Server is the default and the usual choice for 1C: most 1C specialists know it well, and both file and SQL bases run on it without extra work. Linux with PostgreSQL is available on request and can make sense when your 1C specialist already supports that stack. You can switch the operating system in the cart when ordering. Either way the server is handed over with the base OS ready, and installing 1C and configuring the base on top is your side of the work. If you would rather not do that yourself, describe your setup to us and we will quote the installation as a separate service.

Optional daily backups are available, and the copies are stored off-site, outside the server itself. That separation is the point: if the hardware fails, the backup does not fail with it, and your accounting data can be restored on a replacement machine. Backups also cover the more common case of human error, such as a base damaged by an unlucky update or a deleted document journal. Note that backups are optional, so tell us you want them when ordering and we will include them in the quote. Since you have full Administrator access, you can also run your own 1C archive copies on top as an extra layer.

Yes, and in most cases it is a routine job. The server is handed over with the operating system installed and secure access working, so your 1C specialist connects, installs the platform and restores the existing base from a backup or an archive copy. Workstations need nothing new beyond the 1C client, users simply point it at the new server. Plan the switch for an evening or a weekend, keep the old base untouched until everyone has confirmed the new one works, and only then retire it. If you have no specialist for this, we can handle the migration as a paid service, write to us and describe your current setup.

Access goes over VPN or RDP through an encrypted channel, so traffic between an accountant and the server cannot be read on the way. The machine itself is yours alone, with resources dedicated to you, hosted in our Tier 3+ data centre in Riga on our own network AS58269. You hold full Administrator access, which means you decide who gets an account, and we recommend keeping the user list short and the passwords strong. Sensible practice is to prefer VPN for regular work and treat direct RDP exposure carefully. If you want us to review or harden the access setup, order administration and we will take care of it.

There are two ways to handle licensing. You can bring your own 1C licenses, platform and client, and activate them on the rented server, they remain your property and move with you. Or, if buying licenses yourself is a hassle, contact us and we will arrange the purchase for you. Our part of the deal is always the server, the operating system and secure access; licensing, 1C installation and ongoing administration are optional services on top, so you pay for them only if you order them. Write to support with the list of what you already own, and we will tell you what, if anything, is missing.
