Download and install Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a new software from the global IT giant designed to create spaces for corporate work, communication, file sharing, coordinating meetings, creating team notes, and more. Microsoft introduced the service as part of the Office 365 suite, designed to compete with the popular Slack. Microsoft Teams is integrated with most other Windows office and enterprise products.

How to download and install Microsoft Teams

The official distributions of the application are hosted on teams.microsoft.com. Today, developers offer this software in more than 180 countries around the world in 18 languages. Currently, only Office 365 Enterprise and Business users can install and use Teams.

Office 365 non-business (Personal, Home, Student) owners do not have access to Microsoft Teams.

Install Teams on your computer

To start downloading the installation files for computers with Windows and OS X operating systems, go to teams.microsoft.com to the Downloads section. This page will contain links to download the installation file:

for 32-bit versions of Windows 7/8/10;

for Windows 75-bit 7/8/10;

for operating systems OS X.

On Windows operating systems, you must run the downloaded file. The installation is completed automatically and an authorization window appears in front of the user with the requirement to specify the login and password of the work account.

On Apple computers, drag the installer icon into the Applications folder, and the installation will proceed automatically.

For iOS, Android and Windows Phone

To use it on mobile devices, you need to download and install Microsoft Teams from the official store of the corresponding platform:

Open on your smartphone or tablet AppStore / Play Market / Windows Phone Store.

Go to Search and enter "Microsoft Teams" in the search box.

Go to the first app page from the results page.

Install the application according to the order of your operating system.

For quick access on a non-working computer or mobile device, you can use Microsoft Teams as a web application located on the official website.

In terms of interface and design, it is a complete copy of the desktop application. Immediately after opening the page, an authorization window appears.

What after installation: create your own team or join

System participants communicate with each other within teams. By default, at the time of the first login, the application immediately opens the interface for creating a new team. In the future, to do this, you will need to open the Teams tab on the left side of the screen and click on the Create a team item. Further actions suggest immediately adding to the association of people and carrying out its basic configuration. Invitations will be sent to them automatically.

If you received an invitation to Microsoft Teams from another user, you will need to click on the link from the email. After redirecting to teams.microsoft.com, you will need to go to the Downloads tab to download the application for the corresponding platform.
