Fortinet firewall

We sell it, and we set it up

Most resellers only ship you a box. As an official Fortinet distributor we do both sides: the right hardware at the right price, and engineers who actually make it protect you.

We supply FortiGate

As an official distributor we sell the full FortiGate range and UTM licences at proper distributor pricing, with genuine warranty and fast delivery. We recommend the model that fits your company, not the one that pads the invoice.

  • Genuine Fortinet hardware and licences
  • Distributor pricing and full warranty
  • The right model for your size, not oversold
  • Fast delivery across Latvia

We configure and manage

Our certified engineers set the firewall up for your network: rules, VPN between offices, segmentation and content filtering. We keep it patched, monitored and adjusted as you grow, or hand it over fully configured if you have your own IT.

  • Rules, VPN and segmentation set up for you
  • Content and application filtering tuned
  • Security updates and monitoring
  • Clean handover if you have in-house IT

Fortinet questions

Is CloudHosting a real Fortinet distributor?

Yes. We are an official Fortinet distributor in Latvia, not a reseller buying through intermediaries. In practice this means three things for you. First, every appliance and licence comes straight from the official channel, so the hardware is genuine and the licences register cleanly to your company. Second, the full manufacturer warranty applies, and we handle warranty questions for you instead of pointing you to a third party. Third, you pay distributor pricing rather than a reseller markup. If you want to check what a specific model would cost through us, write to support and ask for a quote.

Can you just sell me the hardware?

Yes. If you have your own IT team and prefer to run the firewall yourselves, we simply supply the FortiGate appliance and the licences you choose, then hand everything over: the box, the paperwork and the licence details your team needs to activate it. Configuration, monitoring and ongoing management are separate optional services, and skipping them does not change the hardware price or the warranty. You can also start hardware-only and add our management later if your team gets stretched, or ask us for a one-time setup and then take over. Tell us your preferred split and we will shape the offer around it.

Which FortiGate model do I need?

Sizing comes down to a few practical questions: how many users work behind the firewall, how many offices you have, how much traffic passes through, and which protections you plan to switch on, since inspection features add load. As a rough guide, a small office is usually served by a FortiGate 40F, while a larger network with more users and heavier filtering moves toward a FortiGate 100F, with steps in between. We ask about your setup first and recommend the model that fits, without overselling, because an oversized box wastes budget and an undersized one slows the whole office down. Describe your network to us and we will name a specific model.

Can you connect our offices with a site-to-site VPN?

Yes, this is one of the most common setups we configure on FortiGate. A site-to-site VPN links your offices over encrypted tunnels, so staff in one location reach servers, printers and internal systems in another as if everything sat on the same local network, without exposing those systems to the public internet. We plan the addressing so the sites do not clash, build and test the tunnels on each appliance, and document what was set up. When you open a new office later, the same design simply gains one more location instead of being rebuilt. If some sites already run other equipment, mention it early so we can check how the pieces fit.

Do you keep the firewall updated afterwards?

That depends on which arrangement you choose. With our management service we watch the appliance, apply firmware and security updates, and adjust rules when your network changes, so nothing quietly falls out of date. If you run the firewall yourselves, the picture splits in two: the UTM subscription refreshes the threat databases automatically, but firmware upgrades, rule changes and health checks remain your team's job. Updates matter more on a firewall than on most equipment, because it faces the internet directly and known holes are probed quickly. Whichever path you pick, agree on it before installation so responsibility is clear from day one.

What is a FortiGate firewall and what does it protect against?

FortiGate is Fortinet's next-generation firewall, usually shortened to NGFW. A traditional firewall only decides which ports and addresses may talk to each other. FortiGate goes further: it inspects the traffic itself, blocks intrusion attempts, scans files for viruses, filters web content and controls which applications are allowed to use your connection. All of this happens in one appliance at the edge of your network, in front of every device behind it, so laptops, servers and phones get the same protection without installing anything on them. It does not replace endpoint antivirus or backups, it complements them. We supply and configure FortiGate as an official Fortinet distributor in Latvia.

How much does a FortiGate firewall cost in Latvia?

There is no single list price, because the total depends on two parts: the appliance model and the UTM licences you attach to it. A small office is usually fine with a FortiGate 40F or 60F, while a larger network needs an 80F or 100F, and the licence term you choose changes the figure as well. As an official distributor we quote at distributor pricing with the full manufacturer warranty included, so you are not paying a reseller margin on top. The honest way to get a number is to send us a short description of your network, users and offices, and we will return a concrete quote for a specific model and licence.

What is a UTM licence and do I need one?

A UTM or ATP subscription is what keeps the protective side of FortiGate current. The appliance itself enforces your rules, but the intrusion prevention signatures, antivirus definitions and web filtering categories all come from databases that must update continuously, because new threats appear daily. The subscription delivers those updates automatically for as long as it runs. Without it the firewall still works, but only as a static packet filter: it applies the rules you wrote and recognises nothing newer. For most companies that gap defeats the point of buying an NGFW, so we usually recommend taking the licence together with the appliance and renewing it on time rather than letting protection lapse.
