Remote office: a hosted desktop with Windows and Office for every employee

One office server in our data centre, a desktop for each person on it, and your team working from home, the office or the road on whatever computer is in front of them. We install the system and the programs, create the users, run the backups and keep it all working. You pay per workplace.

  • Set up and administered by us
  • Works from any computer
  • Data in the EU, invoice in euro

What a remote office is

Instead of a Windows computer under every desk, your company gets one Windows Server in our data centre. Each employee has a personal desktop on it, with their documents, Office and the programs they use, and opens it over Remote Desktop from a laptop, a home PC or a tablet. The work, the files and the licences live on the server; the device in front of the person is just a screen. Close the laptop at home, open a different one at the office, and the same windows are still there.

It is sold as a service, not as a machine. We build the server, create the users, install Office and your business software, set up nightly backups, and answer when something does not work. If you would rather run the server yourself, the Windows VPS is the same system without the administration, priced per machine.

Pricing

How much does it cost

Move the slider to the number of people. The price and the size of the office server follow. Everything below is per month, without VAT.

5 workplaces
Microsoft Office on every desktop

Without Office you use your own Microsoft 365 licences, or LibreOffice, which we install free. See the questions below for which Microsoft 365 plans work on a shared desktop.

Office server we will build for you

4 vCPU · 24 GB RAM · 160 GB NVMe

Sized for the number of people: 4 GB of memory for the system and 2.5 GB for each person with a browser and Office open, NVMe storage for the system and everyone's documents. Bigger sizes on request.

What is included
  • Windows Server 2025 desktops
  • Nightly backups, 7 days kept
  • Support 9:00 to 17:00, monitoring 24/7

Prices are without VAT and cover the server, the desktops, the licences that come with them, the backups and the included administration. Need only the server and want to administer it yourself? Take a Windows VPS instead.

What we do for you

The point of the product is that nobody in your company has to become the IT department.

A desktop for each person

We create a user for every employee with their own login, their own documents folder and the programs they need. New colleague? We add a workplace the same day; someone leaves, we close it and keep the files.

Office and your software installed

Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint on every desktop if you take the Office option, plus your accounting, warehouse or industry programs installed once on the server and shared by everyone.

Backups

A full copy of the server every night, kept for 7 days and restorable in about an hour. A deleted folder or a broken update is a call to us, not a lost day.

Access control

Strong passwords and access only over an encrypted connection. Lost laptop? Nothing was on it. Departing employee? One click and the login is gone.

Administration hours included

Two hours of administrator time every month for the everyday requests: a new printer, a program update, a user who forgot the password, a new colleague. More time is agreed in advance at the hourly rate.

Runs in Riga, under EU law

The server is on our own hardware in our Riga data centre, monitored around the clock. Your data never leaves the European Union and the invoice comes from a Latvian company in euro with VAT.

Not included: moving your existing files, mailboxes and databases onto the new server. That is a one-off job we quote by the hour once we have seen what has to move.

Who it is for

Companies of one to twenty people who want to work from anywhere without buying computers and hiring an administrator.

Moving the team to remote work

The office closes, the people stay. Everyone logs in from home to the same desktop they had at work, with the same files and programs, and nobody has to carry a company laptop or install anything.

Accounting firms and 1C

The accounting database sits on the server, every accountant works in it at the same time, the client sees nothing but a login. Backups every night, no more database on somebody's laptop.

Companies without an IT person

A law firm, a design studio, a trading company: ten people, no administrator, and a growing pile of small computer problems. We take the pile.

Teams in several countries

Sales in Riga, support in Warsaw, the owner in Spain. One server in the EU, one set of programs, one place where the files are, reachable from all three.

Seasonal and project staff

Add ten workplaces for the busy season and close them in autumn. You pay for the months you use and never buy a computer that sits idle the rest of the year.

Replacing old office PCs

Instead of buying a new computer for everyone, keep the old ones as terminals. A five-year-old laptop is perfectly fast at showing a desktop that runs somewhere else.

How it starts

  1. 1

    Tell us the size

How many people, which programs, whether you need Office. A short call or an e-mail is enough.

  2. 2

    We build the office

Within one to two working days the server is up, the desktops exist, Office and your programs are installed, backups run.

  3. 3

Everyone logs in, we keep it running

Each person gets a login and a two-minute instruction; Remote Desktop is already on every Windows PC and free on Mac, iPad and Android. From then on the backups and the everyday requests are ours, and you get one invoice a month, per workplace.

Remote office questions

Does every employee need a new computer?

No. Any Windows PC, Mac, Chromebook, iPad or Android tablet that can run the free Remote Desktop app will do, and old computers work fine because the actual work happens on the server. Many customers keep their existing machines for years longer this way.

What exactly is included in the monthly price?

The office server, a Windows desktop for every workplace, the Windows licences that go with it, nightly backups kept for 7 days, and two hours of administration every month. Office is an option per workplace. Not included: the one-off job of moving your existing files and databases in, which we quote separately.

Can we use our own Microsoft 365 subscription for Office?

Often yes, but it depends on the plan. On a shared desktop Office has to run in shared computer activation mode, which Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Apps for enterprise, E3 and E5 support. Business Standard and Business Basic do not, and Office would only open in read-only mode. Tell us which plan you have and we will say straight away whether it works or whether our Office option is the cheaper route.

How fast is it? Will it feel like a normal computer?

For office work, browsers, accounting and business programs it feels like a normal computer, because only the screen travels over the connection. A stable internet line of a few megabits is enough. What it is not made for is video editing, 3D or games, which need a graphics card on the desk.

What happens if our internet goes down?

The server keeps running and nothing is lost; you simply cannot see it until the connection is back. Because the desktop lives on the server, people can switch to a phone hotspot or go to a cafe and carry on exactly where they were. The server itself sits behind redundant power and network in our Riga data centre.

How do you handle security and who can see our data?

Every person has their own login and sees only their own documents plus the shared folders you decide on. Access goes over an encrypted connection. Our engineers administer the server, but nobody reads your documents: administration is about users, programs and backups, not content.

Can we add or remove people later?

Yes, that is the normal life of an office. A new workplace is usually ready the same working day and appears on the next invoice; a closed one stops being billed from the next month, and we keep the person's files for you to reassign or archive.

What does the two hours of administration cover, and what if we need more?

The ordinary things an office needs every month: a new user, a password reset, a printer, a program update, a question about where a file went. Bigger jobs, such as migrating a database or setting up a new system, are agreed in advance and billed by the hour at the rate shown under the price, so there is never a surprise on the invoice.

Is this desktop as a service, a hosted virtual desktop or a terminal server?

All three names describe it. Technically it is a Windows Server 2025 terminal server: one machine, a Remote Desktop session for each person, and Office and your programs installed once for everyone. Providers call the same thing a hosted virtual desktop or desktop as a service. The difference from the big cloud offerings is that the server is ours, in Riga, the people who set it up answer the phone, and you pay a flat price per workplace instead of by the hour.
