Custom VPS in the Netherlands: build an Amsterdam server to the size you actually need
Set the cores, memory, NVMe and traffic yourself and place the server in Amsterdam, our second region in the Netherlands. The price moves with every choice, at the same component rates as Riga, from 11.00 EUR a month, or 9.35 EUR a month effective on 12 month billing. The machine is live 30 to 60 seconds after payment, with NVMe storage, a 1 Gbps port and daily backups, a few milliseconds from London, Frankfurt and Paris. And if a ready Netherlands plan happens to fit your size, it costs the same or less, and we would rather tell you that here than let you find it on the invoice.
Build your Netherlands VPS and see the price
Pick the cores, memory, storage and traffic for the Amsterdam region. The price updates with every choice, net of VAT, with the term discount already applied, and it is the same price the same machine would cost in Riga.
Four reasons to build your VPS in the Netherlands
Exact sizing at the same rates as Riga
You pay per component, EUR 5.00 per vCPU, EUR 1.50 per GB of RAM and EUR 0.15 per GB of NVMe, and the Amsterdam region adds nothing on top. Need 6 cores with 8 GB of RAM for a West European audience, or 4 GB of RAM on 1 TB of disk? Add exactly that, instead of jumping to a bigger plan and paying for hardware you will not use.
Milliseconds from Western Europe
Amsterdam is home to AMS-IX, one of the best connected internet hubs in Europe, and sits a few milliseconds from London, Frankfurt and Paris. Traffic runs on our own network, AS58269, and our own IP space, so the route between your users and the machine stays short and under our control.
EU jurisdiction, EU invoicing
The server runs in the Netherlands and the contract is with an EU company, so the data stays inside EU jurisdiction and GDPR applies. Prices exclude VAT: Latvian VAT of 21% is added where applicable, and EU businesses with a valid VIES VAT number are reverse charged at 0%.
The same hardware as our ready plans
A machine built here runs on the same NVMe storage and the same network as our Netherlands VPS plans: a 1 Gbps port, 1 IPv4 address, private networking and daily backups included, with a 99.9% SLA. Nothing here is a second-class server, only a different set of numbers.
How to configure a VPS in Amsterdam
- 1
Pick the hardware
Set vCPU (1 to 24), RAM (2 to 128 GB), NVMe (20 to 2048 GB) and monthly traffic (1 to 50 TB). Each option shows what it adds or saves against your current pick, so you can see what a core or 16 more GB of RAM actually costs before you commit.
- 2
Choose the operating system and term
Pick a Linux image, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS or AlmaLinux, or Windows Server with the licence included at no extra charge. Then pick the term: 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, at 0%, 5%, 10% or 15% off. This page starts in Amsterdam (NL1), and the same control still lists Riga if you change your mind.
- 3
Order and connect
Send the configuration to the cart, where the term, the image and the data centre are still changeable, and pay. The server is live in Amsterdam 30 to 60 seconds later, and you get the IP address and root or Administrator access to connect.
Custom sizes that make sense in Amsterdam
- An in-memory database or cache near your EU users: 64 GB of RAM on 80 GB of disk, because the data set lives in memory.
- A CI build server for a European team: 16 or 24 vCPU to compile fast, 8 GB of RAM and a small disk that gets wiped anyway.
- An off-site backup in a second region: 2 TB of NVMe behind 1 vCPU, kept in Amsterdam away from your primary site.
- A media node serving Western Europe: 8 vCPU for transcoding plus 30 TB of monthly traffic, delivered from one of the best connected hubs in Europe.
- A Windows application server for EU clients: 6 vCPU and 24 GB of RAM, a ratio that sits between two ready plans.
- A game or voice server for West European players: 8 fast cores for the tick rate, only 8 GB of RAM and 40 GB of disk.

FAQ
How is the price calculated for an Amsterdam VPS?
The same way as in Riga, from three component rates: EUR 5.00 per vCPU, EUR 1.50 per GB of RAM and EUR 0.15 per GB of NVMe, per month, net of VAT. The order of the maths matters. First the hardware subtotal is rounded up to the whole euro, then the term discount is applied to that rounded figure, and traffic is added at the end: the first 1 TB a month is included and every further TB costs EUR 1.00. The Amsterdam region adds nothing on top of any of this. The calculator runs the same steps on every change, so the figure you see on the page is the figure that lands on the invoice.
Is a VPS in the Netherlands more expensive than one in Riga?
No. The component rates are identical in both regions, so the same configuration costs the same in Amsterdam (NL1) and in Riga (RIX1), to the cent. Riga is our own Tier 3+ data centre, Amsterdam is our second region in the Netherlands, and both sit on our own network, AS58269. That means the choice comes down to latency and jurisdiction, not price: pick Amsterdam when your users are in Western Europe, Riga when they are in the Baltics and nearby markets. Dubai is planned as a third region but is not live yet, so if you need it, talk to support first.
When should I take a ready Netherlands plan instead of building one?
Whenever a plan matches your size. The component rates are fitted to the ready plans, so a machine you build by hand is never cheaper than the equivalent plan, and the plans include more traffic as they grow. The Netherlands VPS plans start at 11.00 EUR a month, 9.35 EUR a month effective on 12 month billing, and run up to 16 vCPU, 128 GB of RAM and 2 TB of NVMe at 572.00 EUR a month, with daily backups on every plan and hourly snapshots and cross-region copies depending on the plan. Keep this calculator for the ratios the plans do not cover.
Can I change the configuration later?
Before payment, yes, in two steps. In the cart the term, the OS image and the data centre stay changeable, so you can still switch to the 12 month term and take the 15% discount, or swap the image, without rebuilding anything. To change the cores, RAM, disk or traffic, go back to the calculator, build the configuration again and send it to the cart afresh; nothing is charged until you complete the payment. Once the server is live, resizing goes through support rather than this page: write to us with the size you need and we will arrange the change.
Which operating systems can I install in Amsterdam?
The same images as in Riga. On Linux you can pick Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS or AlmaLinux, and Windows Server comes with the licence included, so no separate Windows fee appears on the invoice. The image is installed automatically as part of provisioning, and you log in as root on Linux or as Administrator on Windows as soon as the server is up. MikroTik CHR is not offered in this calculator, it is a separate product with its own page. If the system you need is missing from the list, ask support before you order.
How do VAT and the term discounts work?
All prices on this page are net of VAT. Latvian VAT of 21% is added where applicable, and EU businesses with a valid VIES VAT number are reverse charged at 0%, so they pay the net figure. The term discounts are 5% on 3 months, 10% on 6 months and 15% on 12 months, applied to the hardware subtotal after the round up to the whole euro; traffic is charged at list price and the discount does not apply to it. The location makes no difference to any of this: an Amsterdam machine is invoiced exactly like a Riga one.
How well is the Amsterdam region connected?
Amsterdam is one of the best connected internet hubs in Europe, home of AMS-IX, and sits a few milliseconds from London, Frankfurt and Paris. Your server gets a 1 Gbps port, 1 IPv4 address and private networking to your other machines, and traffic runs on our own network, AS58269, and our own IP space. The server is live 30 to 60 seconds after payment and is covered by the same 99.9% SLA as every VPS we run, so the second region is not a second-class one.
